“It is finished.” – Jesus
Man.
It’s Holy Week.
I run this company with a focused theme on righteousness; heck, I named it as such.
But it’s so easy to be caught up in busyness that the righteousness focus becomes peripheral.
I find myself Martha-ing.
There is a lot to do.
But then a quick glance up, and I see Jesus in the week.
So here is your reminder from my own mistake….
Eyes up.
The scramble of Lent, family, dreamings, doings – it’s time to just reorient as we square up with the Triduum. This is the biggest happening in history, and we’re reflecting on this not as history but as conversion. The reason we’re Christians, Christ-ians… Jesus changed everything. Let’s really spend some time engaging with it.
So if you’re in Martha mode, eyes up. Let’s remember that Jesus changes everything. He makes all things new. Put down what needs to be put down for these next few days. Let’s reflect on how Jesus makes us new. If we’re tarnished, renew.
Make the time. Clear off some of the plate. Bring your family along for the ride.
Make a new tradition. Prepare for Easter. Stop at church aside from Mass on Sunday. Break open Sacred Scripture to the Gospels. Go to the Stations of the Cross.
I’ve got a million things to do too. But let’s be more like Mary and not Martha, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things, but only one thing is necessary…”
Let’s get to it.
